Mr. Duarte currently teaches at the universities of UNC Chapel Hill, Duke and North Carolina Central while serving as Director of the UNC Community Music School (unccms.com). His extensive performance experience includes more than a dozen concertos with orchestra as well as numerous recital and chamber music engagements. Prize-winner of many international competitions he was awarded the American Pianists Association Fellowship in 1997. Mr. Duarte enjoys maintaining a private studio of pre-college students in Chapel Hill. His students have won many competitions, performed regularly, and upon graduating from high school, have pursued music studies at many of the country’s most prestigious conservatories and universities.
